The working mom hair

Don't try to deny it. You know we have all gotten up late, hitting snooze one to many times! You don't have time for a shower, so you go with a simple hairstyle for work that will hopefully fool people to believing you are a clean polished mom of the year.
Right!
Well, I loved when I had long hair. Before I got the great idea to donate 10 inches back to a short bob.  I could quickly make my hair into something acceptable in just a few minutes.  With shorter hair it is becoming more difficult! But, some of these tips might help you when you have 30 minutes to get yourself and your kids ready to go in the morning.
#1 - Dry Shampoo. Yes, go buy it. Right now. Seriously, don't wait.  As a person that tends to have greasy roots overnight - go get it!

#2 - Buns.  I loved throwing my hair in a bun for work. With a little makeup and cute earrings you can once again you can hide your morning rush!

#3 - Hairspray.  Worst case scenario I throw some hairspray in my hair while my head is upside down to give it some volume. If you have an extra minute throw a hair dryer on it, brush, and go.

#4 - Bump up the front. Since I have short hair, I often go for this one. I grab a couple bobby pins, grab the front part of my hair, tease the back and put those bobby pins in to hold. Hair spray will keep it in place and you are good to go!

So, next time you have to run out the door in a jiffy, hopefully one of these tips will help you make it to work without looking disheveled.

So, here we go!

I am so excited to begin this new adventure of blogging.  I first started blogging about fun things for young adults to do in Erie (when I lived there). Then, I moved to Pittsburgh, started a family and blogged about family friendly things to do.
Now I begin to take you into the secret world of the working mom.
I'll start at the point you decide to have children and how it's like finding Neverland and getting lost in Narnia.

When you plan to have kids, it's like finding Neverland. You may have never cared what happened to other children before, but all of a sudden you become Wendy and want to care for all the lost boys of the world! Pregnancy is especially a magical time in your life when you start putting all these great plans into place and your perspective of kids and parenting totally change. You put together a beautiful nursery, the decor is spot on, you already signed up for mommy and me classes, told yourself all the things you weren't going to do, and then....

You get lost in Narnia.  You walk through the magical wardrobe when your baby arrives and all this magic and wonder has filled your eyes. You try to tell the others about the beauty and magic, but they warn you about the darkness that lurks within Narnia.  Thinking nothing of the warning you carry on into Narnia.  There you meet the evil queen... known as infancy and toddlers. You feel like you are the heroic lion Aslan and can conquer it all! The evil queen is a tough one; depriving you of sleep, killing your memory, and diminishing all hope of a social life. But, there is hope! You find an army who will go to battle with you against the evil queen! (Mine are known as my husband and mother) Just like in Narnia, time seems capricious to the real world. Your maternity leaves ends way before you think it should, your child turns one in a blink of an eye and next thing you know, you've lost all track of time and you have a toddler.
The following posts will include some of the secrets, the craziness and fun times we've had along the way.  I've worked since my son was born, gulp, 5 years ago, and continue today; even with adding my princess to the bunch. I look forward to hearing your feedback, your stories and your secrets into being a working mom!
